Description
Nymphaea ‘Sirius’ named this scintillating red variety after the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, also known as the Dog Star. Its flowers are of the deepest red with ruddy orange stamens and pink sepals. Leaves are deeply mottled with maroon, complementing well the flowers. ‘Sirius’ is easy to grow, blooms profusely, and naturalises well.

Why water lilies
Water lilies are popular for their distinct beauty and colour. They bloom during the summer, and in the case of the Nymphaea Sirius, this is for several months, meaning extended periods of enjoyment. But more than just looking so wonderful, water lilies are good for the pond eco-system too, helping to keep algae at bay and providing shade for pond fish.
