John Chambers Pro Basic 12 100% Wildflower Wildflower Seed Mix has been designed and mixed with a range of wildflower seed for the professional installer, the Pro-range provides a series of mixes that have been modified to include more commonly found species to suit a wide variety of growing conditions. These mixes provide the professional installer with a beautiful wildflower habitat, encouraging biodiversity in urban landscapes, and is backed up by the John Chambers promise of superior quality wildflower seed for your project.

Usage:

Formulated from a base mix of eight common but successful native British wildflower species. To the basic mix of eight seeds, we add a combination of 4 mainly perennial, native British wildflower species that will produce rich well-balanced landscape areas are added.

Wildflower Site Preparation

The site should be weed-free. Annual weeds should be controlled by mechanical means or by the use of contact-based herbicide. Perennial weeds, for example, docks thistle, nettles, and couch grass can be dealt with using a translocated herbicide such as Round-Up. Cultivate to achieve a fine seedbed, sow seed mix and then roll to ensure firmness. The best results are obtained when there is good contact between the soil and the seeds.

Sowing Times

Sowing can best be achieved by mixing the seed with dry sand, dry sifted topsoil or sawdust and evenly broadcast. It is important that the seed is in contact with moisture in the soil so the seedbed should be lightly raked and then rolled.
