Large species of freshwater mussel. Approx size 10 – 20cm. Shell is flat & pale green or brown in colour. Live in & around mud on the pond floor where they feed on very small particles of decaying vegetation & small live food.They are known as a filter feeder as they feed on the algae.

1 per m². Suitable for large ponds that have plenty of natural wildlife & organisms and plant remnants harbouring various bugs etc.Swan mussels can die suddenly & quickly pollute the pond water in a small pond.
