Product Description

Lobelia × speciosa ‘Vedrariensis’, commonly known as Purple Lobelia, is a striking upright perennial valued for its deep violet‑purple tubular flowers carried on tall, elegant spikes. Flowering from mid‑summer into early autumn, it provides bold vertical colour when many other plants are fading.

This hardy perennial forms narrow, red‑tinged green foliage and thrives in moist to wet soil, making it ideal for pond margins, bog gardens, and damp borders. It can also be grown in shallow water on the marginal shelf. Reaching 90–120 cm at maturity, it creates a dramatic architectural presence in naturalistic or contemporary planting schemes.

A reliable performer, ‘Vedrariensis’ is pollinator‑friendly, easy to maintain, and fully hardy in UK conditions.
