Description
The Equisetum scirpoides, or Dwarf Horsetail, is a compact and charming variety of horsetail, offering all the visual appeal of its larger relatives but in a more manageable size. With its fine, jointed stems and graceful, upright growth habit, this smaller version of Equisetum hyemale is perfect for adding a touch of vertical elegance to smaller spaces or container gardens.
While it’s ideal for creating textural contrast in water gardens or along damp garden borders, this plant can spread aggressively. For better control, it’s recommended to keep it in a container to prevent it from overtaking your garden. Its resilience and unique appearance make it a fantastic choice for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance plant with a wild, architectural look.
