It’s important to protect your flexible Pond Liner, by using a puncture-resistant underlay, Artisan Aquatics only supply high-grade material. For smaller ponds, we recommend our pond grade underlay with a minimum density of 150g/m2.
Underlay should be laid on the base and sides of the newly constructed pond before the liner is fitted. On stony ground, remove any obvious stones and then covering the pond base with 2 inches of sand before the underlay is fitted.
To work out how much protective underlay you require, we suggest matching the same square meterage as your pond liner. For example, if your liner measures 3
m x 3m, then select 3m x 3m of underlay.
